PLC Mission Endowment Fund

Barbecue Luncheon

Peace Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund is hosting a barbecue luncheon after the second service on Mission Endowment Sunday, May 20, 2012.

We will be serving—hot off the grill—scrumptious barbecued tri-tip and mouth-watering chicken, as well as salad, rolls and dessert. All are welcome, so please mark your calendars and plan to join us Sunday, May 20!  We look forward to seeing you!

Got the genealogy bug?

Several members of Peace have been interested in the idea of starting a “genealogy group.” The idea is that Peace members who are interested in genealogy would get together periodically and share ideas, experiences, stories, and research problems. We’ll have an initial meeting on Wednesday, May 23 at 2 p.m. at the church. If you’re already working on genealogy, bring a problem you’re trying to solve, and we’ll see what we can do. If you’re just beginning, bring your interest and  an idea of what you’d like to find out.

CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP AT PEACE  LUTHERAN

The Caregivers Support Group for People of Faith is a group for people who    are caring for a loved one, either at home or in a facility, who love the Lord and look to Him for help on this difficult journey.

Caregiving is one of the most difficult yet perhaps most rewarding jobs we can have, but trying to do it alone is almost impossible. It is estimated that 66% of all caregivers will become very ill or die, before the one for whom they are caring passes, unless they have support.

Our group is one of those supports. We laugh and cry, and above all, we look to the Lord for guidance.  Talking to others who are on the same journey is   invaluable.  Our group is facilitated by Evelyn Donaldson, MSW, and member of Peace.  We hope you will join us the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month in the Cross Room, 1:00 - 3:00 PM.

For questions, please call Evelyn: 272-5343.
